Hybrid Battery Replacement Options

Apr 29, 2024

Recently, we have expanded our products based on customer feedback. We now offer several different types of batteries, so there is an option for every budget and situation! With this blog, we hope to provide valuable information so you can make an informed decision.

Silver:

Our economical battery is our Silver battery with our standard modules in a remanufactured battery pack. This battery is for our budget customer who needs a reliable, quality battery at a fraction of the cost of a new one—saving thousands of dollars! This is a great battery and fits the needs of many of our customers. The Silver battery comes with a base warranty of 90 days and an optional lifetime warranty after that. Even better, the warranty is transferable to a new owner.

Gold:

Our Gold battery comes with our premium reconditioned modules.  This battery is for customers who may have newer vehicles or want peace of mind knowing they have a higher-quality, better-performing battery.  Don't be fooled by our competitors, who offer premium modules as their entry-level battery. Our competitor's “premium modules” are similar to our standard modules in the Silver battery. The Gold batteries with premium reconditioned modules also have a standard 3-year warranty and an optional transferable lifetime warranty after that.

Platinum:

For those who want to upgrade for the ultimate peace of mind, we also offer brand new modules with a 5-year warranty with our Platinum batteries.  These new modules are from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), not an aftermarket knockoff. It’s the same new modules you received when you drove the car off the lot on its first day. Like all our batteries, the initial warranty is also extendable to a transferable lifetime warranty after the initial 5 years.

What’s the difference between standard (Silver) and premium (Gold) modules?

All of our modules have been inspected, reconditioned, and qualified for use in another vehicle. However, not all modules are the same. The "Gold battery" is a high-quality, premium reconditioned battery offered by the company. It is equipped with "premium modules," which are components responsible for storing and delivering electrical energy within the battery.

We take great care in ensuring that the premium modules used in our Gold batteries meet stringent quality standards. To determine which modules qualify as premium, several factors are considered, such as:

  1. Age: The modules' age is taken into account to ensure they are not too old and can still perform optimally.
  2. Amp-hour Capacity: This indicates the total amount of energy the modules can store and deliver in one hour.
  3. Watt-hour Energy: This measures the total energy capacity in watt-hours that the modules can provide.
  4. Internal Resistance: A low internal resistance indicates better efficiency and performance.
  5. Average Voltage: The average voltage output of the modules is checked to ensure it meets the required specifications.
  6. Weight: The weight of the modules can also be indicative of their quality and capacity.

After evaluating all these factors, only the top 10% of the best modules are selected as premium modules for the Gold-level batteries. As a result, the Gold battery is ideal for customers who have newer vehicles or want the assurance of owning a higher-quality and better-performing battery.

Our Process:

Our battery packs are completely remanufactured using a 40-step process to bring them back to manufacturer standards, and our modules are reconditioned using our proprietary technology from NuVant Systems. It’s important to know that we do not simply perform a module swap out of a bad module. This is just a band-aid approach and will cause more problems in the near future.

Remanufacturing involves refurbishing the battery's existing modules and replacing any damaged or worn components, which can extend the battery's lifespan and performance. Although module and cell are the cause of most failures, it is also important to mention other causes and components failures such as: cooling fan and system, dirt causing modules to overheat, copper busbars and harness contact contamination, battery management system, relays and fuses, ECU failure, and current sensor failures. Inspecting and replacing these critical parts are part of the remanufacturing process. Furthermore, high-quality remanufacturers use higher-quality materials and more advanced refurbishing techniques than the original manufacturer, which can result in a longer lifespan.
